After two heinous not so Alexander Lopez performances at the Reedy Race( qualifying12th), and at the Roar Asphalt Nationals( qualifying 11th), i decided to drive up to Daytona, Fl on Friday June 16 with fellow R/C America and Team Xray driver Michael Abraira to run some modified touring at the 5th leg of the Florida state race series which was held at MB racing. After a 5 hour drive, we went to the hotel and got some needed rest seeing as we had to get up the next day at 6am to go practice.

Saturday June 17, we arrived at the track and noticed that a very flowy lay out was designed. So after setting up our pit spots and charging up our packs, we went out and practiced from 7-12. Both my car and Mike's were extremely good. We were so surprised with how good our cars were, that we were very confident about the race. When the 1st qualifier come up, the sun decided to come out and play. So after the 1st qualifier finished, my car and mike's were a bit loose seeing as the sun came out and made the track really greasy.

So going into the second qualifier, we decided to stand our rear shocks up 1 hole and take our rear sway bars off for more rear traction. When the second qualifier was over, we were happier with our cars, but they still needed more traction. i tried different traction compounds in the practice session after the 2 rounds of qualifying were over and my car felt way better.

Sunday June 18, was the last day of qualifying and the mains. I decided to practice once more before the last qualifier. I had noticed that the weather channel in the morning had stated that there would be no sun out in the morning, which made me really happy. With that being said, I laid my shocks in 1 hole and but back my rear sway bar on, seeing as the track was cold and there would be more traction. I also tried Black Magic traction compound in the last qualifier and it worked like a charm. i ended up going from 5th qualifier to tquing the event with a 22 5:13. A full lap faster then my previous time. Mike Abraira also stepped up his time by a full lap qualifying 3rd. Michael and I were the only two drivers in the 13 secs range pully off 13.9's in our last qualifiers.

Then came the mains.... mother nature had a different role for us as the weather went from good, to bad, and it quickly began to rain. With the rain pouring down on us, the races were called and I was declared the winner.
